As a Store Manager, you will lead the end-to-end operations of a high-performing retail store, drive commercial success and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will be responsible for executing strategic initiatives, managing compliance, and developing a team culture that supports growth, innovation, and excellence. This position is uniquely suited to candidates with extensive experience in managing complex retail environments, including advanced inventory systems, customer engagement platforms, and performance analytics tools. You need to bring specialised experience in managing complex retail systems, leading high-performing teams, and driving transformation initiatives that align with national business goals. The Wagga Wagga store plays a pivotal role in the Riverina community livelihood and day to day lives. It is more than just a retail store, helping rebuild the brand and perception of Telstra across the Riverina. Key Responsibilities This is how you’ll bring the purpose of your role to life. Strategic Leadership Develop and execute quarterly and annual store strategies aligned with company goals, including sales, customer experience, and operational KPIs. Utilise tools such as Power BI, Salesforce, and Retail Next to analyse performance data, identify trends, and implement targeted improvements. Lead store-level implementation of national campaigns, product launches, and system upgrades (e.g. POS transitions, CRM enhancements). Drive profitability through cost control, margin improvement, and strategic stock management. Ensure compliance with operational standards, including Workday, WFM (Workforce Management), and Loss Prevention protocols. Community engagement and brand reputation increase Operational Excellence Oversee daily operations including: Inventory management using systems like SAP or Oracle RMS. Banking and reconciliation Merchandising and planogram execution using Merch cloud/One door or similar platforms. Customer complaint resolution via Soft Phone and Face to Face. Maintain store presentation and visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines. Conduct regular audits and compliance checks, ensuring adherence to health & safety, financial, and operational policies. People Leadership Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members using Workday Recruiting and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Conduct monthly performance reviews and coaching sessions using frameworks such as Elevate Coaching, CUE, and SMART Goals. Identify skill gaps and implement tailored development plans, including succession planning and leadership mentoring. Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement. Act as the escalation point for HR matters, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes. About you To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in: Minimum 4 years’ experience in multi-functional retail leadership, including full accountability for store performance. Proven success in leading teams to exceed KPIs in high-volume, fast-paced environments. Advanced proficiency in retail systems including POS, CRM, Inventory Management, and Reporting Tools. Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and trend analysis. Demonstrated ability to lead through change, including system upgrades, product transitions, and organisational restructuring. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire diverse teams.
