Lynas Rare Earths has a 6-month fixed term opportunity for a Process Operator to join our team at the Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF). The Kalgoorlie REPF is now a key strategic platform for critical mineral production, blending pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process in an Australian first, mineral processing plant. The Opportunity: This 6-month fixed term role reports to the Production Coordinator and will be responsible for assisting the processing team with routine standard operational tasks, focusing predominantly on the handling and movement of bulk materials in the processing plant, assisting with our Ammonium Bicarbonate preparation area. The other various areas of work may include kiln, leaching, reagent handling, water treatment, and filtration across the 6-month term. This fixed term role is offered on a Kalgoorlie-Goldfields residential basis only, working a 7 on / 7 off, 12 hour rotating day and night shift – with the potential to adjust, depending on business requirements. Your responsibilities will include: The safe day-to-day operation of the processing plant including: Pre-starts on equipment and routine refuelling Operating excavator, skid steer, Telehandler, loader, forklift Hosing Undertaking various housekeeping activities Reagent unloading duties Filter cloth assembly and change-outs Operational duties, including inspections Contributing to the development of safe working procedures Ensure a safe working environment is maintained with the identification, reporting of, and control of hazards. Required skills and experience: Unwavering approach to safety Nationally accredited competency of excavator essential Experience and good competency with operating an excavator Nationally accredited competency of fork lift, skid steer, and telehandler beneficial Relevant experience in a processing plant environment highly desirable Construction Industry Induction (White Card) Respirator Policy alignment (clean-shaven / unobtrusive piercings for respirator-seal) WA unencumbered C class drivers’ license or above Must reside within the Goldfields region for our residential site Available for an immediate commencement (pending pre-employment vetting and approvals) Why join us?
