We’re now looking for an experienced qualified Motor Mechanic to join our professional service team and deliver high-quality diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across a range of vehicles. The Role The mechanic role will see you work with a qualified team team to undertake routine servicing, mechanical repairs on a wide range of new and old petrol and diesel vehicles. From diagnosing faults (electronic and manual) to inspecting brakes, suspensions to overhauling gearboxes and engines the mechanic role you will see you use your technical knowledge and experience to undertake a range of servicing and repairs to deliver quality mechanic service and workmanship The team at Bridgestone Select Geelong pride themselves on excellent teamwork. The right fit for this role is a mechanic who won’t mind helping out on the front counter, assisting with tyre fitting and wheel alignments and customer service tasks from time to time and, undertaking overtime to ensure everyone contributes to the fast, high-quality service they are renowned for. Duties Service, maintain, and repair petrol and diesel vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension Diagnose faults using electronic and manual tools, and replace or repair worn components Perform safety, roadworthy, and compliance inspections, along with tyre services and alignments Complete accurate service reports, job cards, and records in line with OHS standards Support with tyre fitting, wheel alignment and customer service from time to time and provide quality service to customers and fleet accounts Available to work full-time 38hrs per week, Mon to Friday (8-4:30pm or 8:30-5pm) and, work every second Saturday 8am to 12pm (OT) as well as undertake additional OT during the week from time to time. Skills & Experience Must have a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification) Must have at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a Light Vehicle Motor Mechanic Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems in light vehicles Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment High attention to detail and commitment to safety and service quality Must have current Australian driver’s licence, unlimited working rights and satisfactorily pass a criminal history check Benefits Full-time ongoing role competitive salary OT available Reputable professional development courses available paid for paid work time provided to complete them VACC registered business excellent reputation ethical practices Please note To be considered for this role, applicants must be currently residing in Australia and provide proof of current unlimited Australian working rights.
