About the role We are growing, and now is the perfect time to join us! As an Accountant at IOT Group Australia Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations. Reporting to the Financial Controller (Aus/NZ/PNG), you will oversee key financial processes and contribute to maintaining high standards of financial reporting and compliance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, results-driven environment and is ready to take ownership of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. In addition, you will be managing monthly payroll for approximately 65 staff across Australia and New Zealand, alongside supporting financial analysis and reporting activities. Key Responsibilities Maintain the General Ledger (GL) structure and chart of accounts, supporting all statutory, tax, and operational needs. Record financial transactions and ensure monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Update cash flow projections daily. Prepare tracking reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Work closely with the Financial Controller to prepare financial reports, develop annual budgets and cash flow projections. Manage monthly payroll across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring full compliance with reporting and lodgement obligations. Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of group financial reports, and perform all other duties as directed by the Financial Controller Support the admin team and contribute to enhancing internal accounting standards and policies. Foster a high-performance, team-oriented culture aligned with our company values. What we're looking for Qualifications : A Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business field. Professional Accreditation : CA, CPA, or similar (or working towards completion). Experience : 3–5 years in financial accounting, preferably within the Oil & Gas or Mining sectors. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Skills Strong organisational and time management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first approach. Advanced proficiency in Xero, Excel, and payroll software. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
