We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher with a passion to lead our dynamic Maths Teaching Team in the delivery of high-performing learning programs. Commencing in Term 1, 2026 the role is offered as a 3 - year position of responsibility with an ongoing substantive teaching position thereafter at either fulltime or 0.8 by negotiation. As an academic leader and mentor, the Head of Maths must have a strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices, including those encompassed by the 'Science of Learning'. The Head of Maths motivates, encourages, and inspires the work of their colleagues, ensuring they operate with a clear focus on delivering numeracy outcomes for students and the School as a whole. Key aspects of the role: Ability to teach Maths across years 7 – 12, specialist math highly desirable. Promote a culture of high performance and innovative teaching practice across 7–12 year levels. Lead a culture of professional growth across the year levels to enhance the capacity of teaching staff to apply whole school initiatives and agreed practice, and to support teachers in their individual professional learning needs. Ensure that a sound knowledge of emerging trends in educational theory, learning theory, learning technology, student achievement, assessment and methodologies underpins all learning and teaching in year 7-12 programs. Work closely with staff in the provision of a challenging, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students across the year levels. Develop and review the curriculum, resources, feedback and assessment practices and targeted teaching and learning strategies across the 7-12 Year levels. Be a positive, collaborative and flexible professional who enjoys working in a team environment. Demonstrate planning informed by using and analysing formative and summative assessments. Excellent organisational skills. Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate with the parents of students studying Mathematics.
