Disability Support Worker – Weekend Community Access Support Location: Ferntree Gully, VIC Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM 1 more day of the week soon. We are seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to a participant living with Schizoaffective Disorder who uses a wheelchair. About the Role: You will be supporting the participant with community access on weekends, ensuring they can engage safely and confidently in activities. Your role will involve assisting with mobility, offering emotional support, and fostering independence in a respectful and empowering way. Key Responsibilities: Support the participant in accessing the community and attending planned activities. Provide mobility assistance, including safe wheelchair handling. Offer companionship and create a safe, positive environment. Follow individual support plans and communicate effectively with the team. About You: Previous experience in disability support or mental health. Calm, patient, and empathetic nature with strong communication skills. Comfortable supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities. Physically capable of assisting with mobility and wheelchair transfers Mandatory Requirements: NDIS Worker Screening Check NPC / Working With Children Check Current First Aid & CPR Certificate Driver’s Licence & own car (essential) Why Join Us?
