Permanent Ongoing Position at the City of Ballarat, a growing and substantial heritage city in western Victoria Opportunity to work on key city-shaping projects Annualised Band 7 $118,257 - $130,954 super About the role Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Planning, this position will assist in the development and delivery of strategic planning and urban design projects and respond to the current and future needs of both the organisation and the community. This role will deliver strategic planning and urban design projects alongside planning scheme amendments. The successful candidate will also assist the Coordinator in managing timeframes, communications and engagement on key projects. The wider unit of Development Facilitation supports flexible ways of working and the successful candidate can expect a supportive working environment. About you To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will be an urban planning and/or design professional with broad ranging technical skills and a demonstrated ability to progress and deliver projects. Key Selection Criteria Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Urban Design or related discipline with experience in a senior strategic planning position, and in-depth knowledge of the Victorian planning system. Proven ability to contribute to a positive work culture and work collaboratively and enthusiastically as part of a team in a sensitive and confidential environment, providing leadership and guidance to others as required. Demonstrated success providing considered advice, guidance and direction on land use challenges and associated policy, including writing, reviewing and delivering integrated strategic land use planning policy and projects. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success in developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, including successful delivery of consultation programs.
