We offer a vibrant, inclusive culture the values your expertise. About the role An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Transport Driver to join our team at Royal Rehab Ryde. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting current inpatients to and from external medical or dental appointments. Additionally, you may provide non-clinical support to other areas within the Centre as time permits. If you are passionate about patient care and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team, apply today! Key responsibilities include: Provide safe, effective, and efficient transport services for Royal Rehab patients, including securing clients and ensuring their comfort. Collect and return keys and mobile phone from the Coordinator’s office daily. Meet with the Coordinator each morning to review the transport list and any other duties. Liaise regularly with the Coordinator to maintain awareness of any cancellations or additions to the transport list. Assist the transport escort nurse with the collection of clients to/from units and outpatient clinics. Ensure all clients are secured in wheelchairs and seatbelts as per guidelines. Ensure timely arrival and return from external appointments by liaising continually with the escort nurse. Liaise with nursing staff to understand the needs of unescorted clients. Transport clients and/or their belongings to their place of residence on discharge as requested. Maintain vehicle safety, cleanliness, and maintenance, including refueling and reporting any faults or concerns. Familiarize yourself with Centre Fleet Policy and use driving log sheets, hands-free mobile kits, fuel cards, and other vehicle-related resources. Complete the timesheet daily and attend regular in-service training on emergency procedures and other mandatory training. Assist on inpatient units and around the centre as time permits with tasks such as portering clients, delivering mail, and transporting stock deliveries. Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement of the transport service and perform any other duties as requested by the Coordinator or Clinical Operations Manager. About you We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with: Essential Criteria: Australian unrestricted driver's license. First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one. Manual Handling proficient or willingness to participate in Manual Handling training. Demonstrated commitment to client comfort and safety. Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to work within a team setting. Demonstrated ability to problem solve. Demonstrated ability to be flexible with work practices. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in a similar role.
