We are seeking an exceptional executive leader to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), Strategy and Corporate Services Division. This is a position of critical influence and accountability, responsible for delivering the strategic framework, vision, and performance systems that underpin QFD's capability to serve Queenslanders. Reporting directly to the Commissioner, and as part of the Executive Leadership Team, the COO leads a diverse portfolio comprising Finance, Procurement and Levy; People and Culture; Information and Technology; Asset Services; and Strategy. The role also works closely with the Minister, Chief of Staff and senior leaders across government to ensure QFD is positioned to meet whole-of-government and community priorities. Key Responsibilities Providing strategic leadership and advice on the direction, performance, governance and interoperability of QFD. Driving financial stewardship, ICT transformation, procurement and asset management to strengthen operational effectiveness. Leading people and cultural strategies to foster a capable, inclusive and resilient workforce. Building enduring relationships with Ministers, agencies, unions, associations, and partners to deliver integrated, innovative solutions. Leading policy, program and reform initiatives that enhance service delivery, organisational resilience and cultural change. Overseeing governance, risk, and business improvement frameworks to ensure accountability and sound decision-making. To Be Successful A proven record as a senior executive leader in a large and complex organisation, with experience in corporate services, transformation and reform. Proven broad leadership capability with exposure to an asset intensive environment involving a large fleet and property portfolio. Exceptional judgement, agility, and integrity, with the ability to lead in a dynamic, high-profile environment. Strong capability in strategy, governance, financial management, and people leadership. Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to foster confidence and trust across diverse audiences.
