About the role We are seeking a motivated Health Safety and Wellness Support Officer to join our People and Organisational Development Division. In this role, you will provide vital administrative and coordination support to the Health Safety and Wellness Branch, ensuring the smooth delivery of Work Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing health assessment records, maintaining data accuracy across payroll and the Rail Industry Worker (RIW) database, assisting with project design and implementation, and supporting the effective evaluation of WHS and wellness programs. The position also provides essential secretarial support to the Health Safety and Wellness team, including preparing agendas, recording minutes, and monitoring follow-up actions. You will assist with the preparation of reports, analysis and presentation of WHS and wellness data, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with PTA policies and procedures. About You! To excel in this role, you should possess: Sound knowledge of legislative requirements and practices related to Work Health and Safety, as well as the National Assessment Standards for Rail Safety Workers. Relevant secretarial and administrative expertise, including experience in office management or secretarial roles, strong knowledge of administrative protocols, and the ability to handle complex and confidential matters with discretion. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively, provide appropriate advice, and work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong organisational, analytical, and technical skills, including problem-solving ability, time management, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software applications such as Objective and aPay.
