About the Division The Infrastructure and Property Division (IPD) is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and management of UOW’s physical assets across nine NSW campuses. The Division plays a vital role in delivering sustainable, safe, and innovative spaces that support the University’s teaching, research, and community engagement objectives. About the Opportunity The Maintenance Manager will lead the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance operations across UOW’s campuses. This role will oversee civil, building, and landscape maintenance, manage compliance and preventative contracts, and ensure high-quality service delivery through effective supervision and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in supporting the University’s infrastructure by managing internal teams and external contractors, prioritising works, and driving operational excellence with a strong customer service focus. Key Responsibilities Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversee reactive and planned maintenance across all campuses Manage preventative and compliance contracts to ensure value and regulatory adherence Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team Prioritise maintenance programs in collaboration with IPD teams Resolve complex maintenance requests and ensure service excellence Monitor budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation Uphold WHS responsibilities and contribute to UOW’s inclusive workplace culture About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in facilities management Experience in building compliance, civil infrastructure, or landscape maintenance Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental standards, and access requirements Proven ability to manage and mentor large teams Experience managing external service providers and ensuring quality control Budget management and reporting capabilities Familiarity with data systems for property/facilities reporting Experience in higher education (desirable) This position requires a valid Australian Driver Licence and the ability to work across campuses, including outside standard business hours and on-call duties.
