About the Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager IT and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer MCS, the role of Head of IT – MCS is to ensure that the IT services supporting ASC’s Multi-Class Sustainment (MCS) business unit are strategically aligned, fit-for-purpose, and effectively supported. They will be responsible for ensuring that the priorities and strategic objectives of the MCS business unit are clearly understood, effectively communicated, and accurately reflected in the work plan. This includes fostering strong relationships, facilitating alignment across teams, and proactively managing expectations to support collaborative decision-making and delivery of outcomes that meet the needs of all stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders across the business to effectively coordinate and manage program outcomes. Collaborate with the MCS leadership team and broader business to identify, target and prioritise strategic digital ambitions. Determine the appropriate tools, methods, and timing for activities to achieve these business objectives. Deliver agreed projects within IT to time and budget, constantly improving the core platforms to ensure they meet business needs and requirements. Identify potential risks to IT, and develop mitigation strategies for these, including developing governance and assurance programs and initiatives which address concerns proactively. Report on business function performance and compliance in accordance with program requirements. Develop IT frameworks for decision making and governance arrangements to empower teams to make informed decisions, ensure compliance, accountability and clear structure for decision making and oversight for team members to create a culture of transparency and responsible management. Drive implementation for new technologies to support both the Collins Class and Virginia Class Programs. Provide leadership to 10 direct reports, which has potential for further expansion. About you An experienced senior IT leader, you will bring strategic capability and a strong technical background to lead diverse teams across your portfolio. Exceptional stakeholder management will be key to engaging with stakeholders across the business unit and uplifting business performance. You are well practised in negotiating business cases from opportunity to outcome and you have demonstrated ability in bringing sustainable process and behavioural change to your customers. Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
