The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting the company's project planning and delivery. The position also requires assistance in improving construction workflows and operational systems to ensure that projects are delivered more efficiently, cost-effectively, with high quality and safety. Current Opening: This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week). Position Responsibilities and Tasks Reviewing architectural drawings, engineering plans, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates. Analysing project plans/requirements, material costs, labour, equipment usage, and subcontractor quotes to develop competitive tender submissions. Preparing bills of quantities, cost breakdowns, and feasibility studies to support decision-making. Liaising with project managers, engineers, architects, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information. Monitoring cost variations during project execution and preparing updated estimates where required. Assisting management in identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance. Maintaining databases of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure consistency and accuracy of future estimates. Preparing tender documentation and assisting with negotiations to secure new projects. Ensuring compliance with industry standards, building codes, and workplace health and safety regulations. Analysing construction project schedules and optimising sequencing of trades and material procurement to reduce delays. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or higher qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related discipline. At least one year of proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in residential or commercial projects. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documentation. Proficiency in estimation software, spreadsheets, and cost databases. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines concurrently. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organisational skills. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
