The role ALS Geochemistry is seeking a hands-on and adaptable Maintenance All Rounder to join our Maintenance team in Malaga. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this Full Time role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a dynamic laboratory environment. You’ll take on diverse building and repair projects, with the chance to apply your carpentry/joinery skills while also broadening your knowledge in other trades such as welding, plumbing, tiling, painting, or demolition. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, ensuring you gain the skills required to maintain laboratory equipment while working safely in line with ALS Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies. Your key responsibilities will include: Carry out a variety of general building and maintenance tasks Work on projects beyond carpentry and construction, with opportunities to learn additional trades Assist with the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment Liaise with maintenance team members, section supervisors, and Facilities Management to resolve equipment issues and reduce downtime Support site operations with occasional overtime as required The essentials Strong background in Carpentry and/or Joinery Ability to read drawings and complete small structures, stud walls, and door hanging Current manual C-class driver’s licence Flexibility to travel between sites in the Perth region using your own transport Mechanical experience (advantageous but not essential) Skills in other trades or a willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent work ethic and proven ability to manage a diverse workload Flexibility for occasional weekend overtime Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
