Customised Employment Specialist - Inclusive Employment Australia Location – Cairns & Innisfail, QLD Contract Type: Full Time Permanent About the opportunity: The Customised Employment Specialist within Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) will play a key role in engaging with employers to design and tailor job opportunities that align with the strengths, skills, and interests of Workways’ participants. Through a person-centered and solutions-focused approach, you will work closely with participants, businesses, and community stakeholders to "carve" roles that meet both employer needs and the individual capabilities of participants. The role will involve developing strong employer relationships, promoting inclusive hiring practices, and facilitating workplace adjustments to create sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities. It will also support participants in preparing for their new roles and ensuring successful job placement through ongoing guidance and advocacy. The CES will also play a key part in driving caseload growth through targeted community engagement, referral pathway development, and strategic promotion of IEA to potential participants and their support networks. What being a Customised Employment Specialist (CES) involves: Proactively connect with businesses to identify workforce needs and promote inclusive hiring. Collaborate with employers to tailor job roles that match participant strengths and business goals. Educate employers on inclusive practices, workplace adjustments, and disability confidence. Promote Workways Employment Services and highlight benefits like training, incentives, and social impact. Build strong networks with community groups, industry bodies, and employment services. Attend events and forums to generate job leads and advocate for disability employment. Provide ongoing support to employers and participants to ensure successful placements and retention. Analyse local labour market trends to identify new opportunities for customised employment. Keep accurate records of employer engagement and participant outcomes. Work closely with participants to understand their goals and match them to suitable jobs. Support job readiness through workshops, coaching, and workplace preparation. Guide participants through their employment journey, including advocacy and on-the-job support. Develop local engagement strategies to grow caseloads and promote the IEA program. Build referral pathways through schools, NDIS providers, and allied health professionals. Represent Workways at community events to attract participants and raise program awareness. Support inclusive outreach strategies to engage underrepresented or disengaged groups. About you: You are experienced in employment services or disability support with a person-centred approach. You are skilled at supporting a diverse group of individuals in building confidence and job readiness. You are confident engaging employers to create tailored job opportunities. You are knowledgeable in inclusive practices and workplace adjustments. You are a strong communicator who advocates effectively for participants.
