About the Role Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Member Relations Manager will lead the organisation’s membership attraction and retention strategy, ensuring members feel supported, valued, and connected. You will also support sales of industry training courses and ensuring members understand the benefits available to them and how to maximise these. In this brand-new role, you’ll act as the first point of contact for all member and prospective member enquiries, drive initiatives to enhance engagement and retention, and ensure smooth membership processes through the effective use of the Association Management System (iMIS). Key Responsibilities Member engagement and support Develop and implement the organisation’s Membership Attraction and Retention Strategy to grow and retain the membership base. Act as the primary first point of contact regarding membership for member and prospective member enquiries (engaging other team members as appropriate). Respond to enquiries and service requests, and perform active follow up to ensure member satisfaction, increased member engagement and strong promotion of the various benefits of the organisation’s membership to members and prospective members. Develop strong and constructive relationships with members and identify potential new services for members. Ensure a strong onboarding process and experience for new members to ensure they maximise new member benefits, embed programs within their organisations and as a result, increase retention of new members. Processes and systems Implement and maintain best practices for all administrative aspects of membership processes, including providing support for new member enquiries, facilitating membership renewal processes, and ensuring adherence to protocols and standards. Act as the ‘guru’ for iMIS, the organisation’s internal Association Management System (AMS). Support member and team enquiries to ensure optimal use of system. Sales and engagement campaigns Work closely with the Senior Manager - Marketing to develop engagement campaigns which communicates the value proposition and specific benefits of memberships. Work closely with the workforce development and events teams to develop engagement campaigns that promote courses and events to members. Track, assess and report on member satisfaction and needs through membership surveys and other feedback mechanisms. Analyse the data and prepare recommendations for the Leadership Team to help inform strategy and programs. About You You’re a people-first professional who understands the importance of building trust and delivering value. You’re organised, proactive, and take pride in creating seamless member experiences. You’ll bring: Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or membership management. Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. Experience developing and implementing sales or engagement processes. Strong administrative and digital skills, including CRM or AMS systems (ideally iMIS) and Microsoft Office. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a confident and professional approach. Experience within a membership-based organisation or peak industry body will be highly regarded.
