About the team The Review and Appeals Team has responsibility for undertaking statutory reviews of primary decisions to ensure that ASQA's decisions support the integrity of the national qualifications issued by training providers, and to ensure that all stakeholders can have confidence in the decisions made by ASQA. The Team also manages cases that are in dispute in the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART). The function conducted by the Review and Appeals Team ensure procedural integrity and promote both accountability and confidence in ASQA's regulatory processes. The key duties of the position include About the Opportunity We are seeking a Paralegal Officer to provide support to the team through preparing required documents, document management, and general administrative tasks as required. The Paralegal Officer is responsible for managing a range of duties, in the context of assisting and supporting the Team, by providing efficient paralegal and administrative support in the conduct of internal and external review proceedings. Key responsibilities include: managing the team's inbox and calendars, including responding to or redirecting queries as appropriate, and filing emails and documents assisting with the preparation of documents, primarily in matters before the Administrative Reviews Tribunal (ART) responding or drafting responses to correspondence liaising with relevant court and tribunal registries general administrative tasks as required, including: undertaking data entry and reporting responsibilities using relevant internal databases, registers, and other tools undertaking accurate records management in accordance with approved processes simple budgeting and associated reporting responsibilities, including the preparation of invoices for payment and purchase order requests. Skills and experience To succeed in this role, you will have: knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire the knowledge of, the Acts and compliance requirements relevant to the VET and overseas student sectors, including an understanding of the Commonwealth Legal Framework experience undertaking a broad range of administrative support activities including an understanding of the principles of good public administration and/or of legal administrative or paralegal support intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel and experience using other information systems and databases highly developed attention to detail highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally manage internal and external relationships highly developed organisation skills including the ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
