NHMRC is seeking an experienced and high performing candidate to fill the role of Project Officer to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can work flexibly across different areas and is aware of, or willing to develop an understanding of NHMRC's research integrity and human research ethics frameworks, policies and procedures. Please note this is a part time position and the successful candidate will be required to work 22.5 to 30 hours per week. About the Section The Ethics and Integrity section manages NHMRC's integrity program and provides guidance on responsible research practices and advice to institutions on how they should respond to concerns about research conduct. The team handles notifications of potential or actual breaches of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research in line with the NHMRC Research Integrity and Misconduct Policy and supports the work of the Australian Research Integrity Committee (ARIC). The team is also responsible for the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, provides advice on the ethical conduct of human research, administers the registration scheme for Human Research Ethics Committees (HRECs), supports the work of the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC), and develops and maintains the Human Research Ethics Application (HREA) form. The key duties of the position include As the Project Officer, you will: Support ethics activities including registration, certification and monitoring of human research ethics committees Respond to ethics queries, including those relating to human research ethics and the Human Research Ethics Application (HREA), in consultation with other team members Undertake project work related to the Australian Health Ethics Committee Support committee and working groups, including arranging meetings, preparing papers, writing minutes and following up on actions Undertake routine research integrity processes including integrity checks, monthly reports, database management and updates. Provide general administrative support to the section.
