The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division, Financial Systems and Operations Branch is seeking experienced Assistant Director leaders with finance systems knowledge and experience to join the team. We are looking for energetic critical thinkers who thrive on a challenge and have leadership and management skills to build team capability and financial systems experience. Positions are available in the Finance and Procurement Service Desk, Administered and Corporate Financial Systems teams. The CFO Division manages the agency's budget of $5.9 billion and administered payments of over $200 billion on behalf of partner agencies to ensure all Australians, no matter where they live, can quickly and easily access streamlined government services and support. The CFO Division continues to implement an ambitious reform agenda to modernise and automate the finance function. The Financial Systems and Operations (FSO) Branch sustains, enhances and upgrades the agency's financial systems to support CFO Division in the provision of financial advice, contestability, control and assurance, and assist the agency in achieving its outcomes to Government. This includes providing strategic financial systems advice and requirements for customer payment and debt systems, and key transformation programs such as Aged Care and other payments made by the agency. The Branch assists CFO Division with business process improvement, automation and standardisation of financial processes, and the consolidation of bespoke financial systems to the enterprise's financial systems, where appropriate. The Branch also ensures the integrity of financial data is well maintained, standardised, reconcilable and financial structures support reporting capabilities. This ensures the financial systems are fit for purpose to underpin the delivery of financial reporting, governance and compliance frameworks. As an Assistant Director within the Branch, you operate with a fair degree of independence and work under the guidance of a director to deliver quality outcomes for Services Australia's (the agency) finance systems. These systems include Administered Financial Systems (customer/provider) for payments made on behalf of other Australian Government Agencies and the agency's own Departmental Finance and Budget systems. These systems ensure the delivery of key financial information to achieve agency outcomes. As an Assistant Director you assist Directors in identifying and driving innovation, managing and leading change and have an active assistant role in contributing to and implementing the agency's strategic direction. The key duties of the position include Exercising leadership and direction of a small team in the delivery of improvements to financial systems and processes Providing clear and concise advice and reporting to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to financial systems, processes, automation and service desk operations through: Performing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly system processes Triage and escalation of system incidents Investigation, problem analysis and resolution Assistance to staff on procurement and finance system issues Assisting in proactively identifying and implementing process and system improvements Reviewing project documentation Writing and reviewing financial requirements Reviewing system design documents Planning, coordinating and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Reviewing project documentation Writing and reviewing financial requirements Reviewing system design documents Reviewing Systems Integration Testing (SIT) scripts Planning, coordinating and performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Supervising, developing and coaching staff, including the provision of clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance and delegating responsibility.
