The Opportunity As a Senior Cost Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of large-scale and technically complex data centre projects. In this role, you will: Lead cost management activities across major data centre projects, from feasibility and pre-contract stages through delivery and close-out Manage the tender and bid process for MEP-heavy and mission-critical works packages, ensuring transparency and value for money Drive the change management process evaluating proposed changes in infrastructure, systems, and scope, and assessing their impact on project budgets Analyse complex bids to ensure optimal client investment while maintaining strict compliance with data centre specifications and performance requirements Prepare and agree final accounts, including resolution of claims and variations, ensuring financial outcomes align with client expectations Develop detailed cost plans that align with the specific demands of hyperscale and colocation data centre developments Produce valuations and cost reports to track project performance, providing forward-looking insights that support critical decision-making Assist in resolving disputes and loss claims with a transparent and fair approach Support and mentor team members, helping to build specialist sector expertise in mission-critical cost management About You We would love to hear from professionals who: Bring proven experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical environments such as life sciences or advanced manufacturing Have deep knowledge of pre-contract cost management, budget control, and cost planning, ideally with experience navigating unique data centre requirements such as high MEP content, redundancy systems, and scalable infrastructure Are confident in managing and assessing large-value packages, including electrical and mechanical systems central to data centre performance Are chartered or working towards it (support can be provided) Hold a degree or equivalent experience in a construction, quantity surveying, or project management discipline Communicate clearly and effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the full project lifecycle Thrive in fast-paced environments with complex stakeholder demands and tight delivery schedules Enjoy building strong partnerships with teams and clients, with an understanding of the importance of reliability, uptime, and innovation in the data centre sector
