Woodward Foods Australia is a leading red meat processor and exporter. We are seeking an experienced Meat Inspector to join our team in Swan Hill. About the Role: The Meat Inspector will be responsible for inspecting animal carcasses, internal organs and processing facilities to ensure compliance with food safety, animal welfare and industry standards. The role ensures our products meet all regulatory requirements for quality and human consumption. Key Responsibilities: Testing meat samples for quality, grading, and compliance with food safety standards. Monitoring and auditing hygiene and sanitation practices within meat processing and handling facilities. Ensuring required standards of hygiene are maintained in storage, processing and packing areas, as well as in transport vehicles. Providing advice to producers and processing staff on compliance with regulations and the health implications of impurities or contamination. Assisting with enforcement action, including reporting breaches of regulations and supporting legal proceedings where necessary. Inspecting livestock before and after slaughter to identify disease, contamination or other quality issues, and reporting findings. Requirements: Current driver’s licence. National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain). Certificate IV in Meat Safety Inspection AMP40522 (or equivalent). Experience as a Meat Safety Inspector within a red meat processing environment. Minimum 3 years’ relevant industry experience. Strong knowledge of meat inspection practices, hygiene requirements and regulatory compliance. What We Offer: Competitive remuneration.
