The Opportunity: Senior Buyer – Sydney CBD As a Senior Buyer, you will manage the sourcing and procurement of site requirements, ensuring compliance with Webuild Group policies and project procedures. You will support the Category Manager in procurement strategy, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations to optimise cost, quality, and lead times, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and preparing recommendations to support informed decision-making. Why You Should Apply Be part of a landmark project – Procurement for major Metro Station works that will shape the future of Sydney’s transport network Build your career – Learn from industry leaders on a Tier One project Strong team culture – Work in a collaborative and supportive environment Key Responsibilities Source and procure goods and services to meet project requirements, ensuring compliance with Webuild Group and project procedures Support the Category Manager in defining procurement strategies, vendor lists and Requests for Proposal Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers, prepare bid evaluations and formalise purchase orders and agreements Conduct cost and technical assessments of supplier offers, prepare recommendations and secure approvals in line with budgets Manage and maintain positive supplier relationships, expediting deliveries to meet project deadlines Work with internal departments to identify procurement timelines and ensure accurate, timely deliverables Conduct market surveys to identify competitive suppliers, optimise lead times and achieve cost, quality and safety objectives What We’re Looking For Construction industry experience as a Senior Buyer on large-scale projects Proven experience sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships Preferably SAP Ariba Sound understanding of NSW Government Procurement Guidelines Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills Strong interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration and team leadership abilities Flexible, process-oriented, and detail-focused approach.
