Description The Opportunity Reporting into the Head of Legal, this is a brand-new position that you’ll be able to make your own. A re you ready to “rise” to the challenge and make a difference by: Draft and negotiate franchise agreements, occupancy licences, surrenders, terminations, and breach notices across the Bakers Delight portfolio. Manage end-to-end franchise transactions, including liaising with purchaser/vendor lawyers, achieving timely settlements, and handling pre/post-settlement tasks. Provide legal advice to Franchise Development, Property, Projects, and Operations teams on disclosure, cooling-off periods, and settlement conditions. Maintain current knowledge of the Franchising Code of Conduct and relevant case law to deliver accurate, commercial legal advice. Monitor key dates and workflows to ensure franchise transactions align with bakery opening schedules and disclosure obligations. Collaborate closely with internal teams to meet legal and commercial deadlines across the national franchise network. Let’s hear about you! You’ll be able to utilise your previous experience in the legal and franchising industry to make suggestions and shape the role for maximum serviceability to your client groups, y ou will also demonstrate: At least 5 years’ experience as an Australian lawyer focussing on franchising and commercial law, gained at a reputable legal firm or in house in a similar environment. Proven history of high-volume franchising transactions by a national retailer Excellent knowledge of the Franchising Code of Conduct (including the recent amendments) and relevant case law. Strong attention to detail and the ability to be able to operate at a strategic level, as well as enthusiasm to be involved in day-to-day matters. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong ability to prioritise and multiple demands and projects. Ability to influence and engage across a range of business areas and functions with differing issues, interests, and risks. A commitment to customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and work within a team environment. Why Bakers Delight?
