Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality primary healthcare, including acute care, chronic disease management, and health promotion. • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic and culturally responsive care. • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with protocols and regulatory standards. • Support community health initiatives, education, and engagement activities. • Participate in the on-call emergency response roster as required. What you need to be successful? To succeed in this role, you will bring: • Current Registered Nurse qualification and AHPRA registration. • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a remote community, emergency, or Indigenous health setting (MEC/REC/ALS certification preferred). • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across diverse communities. • A genuine commitment to delivering culturally safe, respectful, and community-focused healthcare. • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly to remote communities. What's it like living the Big Rivers Region? The Big Rivers region (a 3 hour drive from Darwin) begins south of Kakadu National Park encompassing Pine Creek, then extends over 500km south to Kalkaringi and stretches across the width of the Territory between the Western Australia and Queensland borders. The region is significant in scale, covering over 360,000 square kilometres and accounting for an area greater than that covered by Germany. The region consists of a number of varied natural environments including vast rivers, tropical forests, rocky escarpments and savannah plains.
