This is a diverse and fast-paced role based in Tenterfield, NSW, with approximately half your time on the tools. You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient technical advice and administrative support in planning and management of mechanical repairs, service and maintenance to achieve industry best practice. It is an imperative part of this role that this person has an excellent understanding of machinery and mechanical, hydraulic and electrical concepts and is able to think logically and methodically under pressure. Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring completion of repairs, service and maintenance jobs according to schedule. Work closely with the workshop department to maintain regular estimates of the cost-to-completion and time-to-completion for each repair and maintenance job. Ensure all repairs, service and maintenance is being performed to quality standards in compliance with plant specifications, budget and schedule, as well as the relevant legislation and standards. Manage the procurement of parts and additional tools required for the service, repair and maintenance jobs. Be positive and proactive in their approach to the coaching, mentoring and training of relevant staff and identify and develop staff within the department for the benefit of the organisation and to meet future growth and needs of the company. Essential Skills and Attributes Background in Heavy Plant, Mechanical and Business processes Proven management skills, practices and planning ability Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks and maintaining focus on priorities Computer literacy, particularly experience working with Microsoft Office applications Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others. Ideally a Trade Certificate in Heavy Plant Maintenance Current Drivers Licence What’s next?
