About the Role We are seeking a Handyperson to carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across our hospital facilities. This role is ideal for someone with a background in plumbing, carpentry or a related trade , who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming spaces. Key Responsibilities General Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine maintenance across hospital buildings including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor electrical work. Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure patient and staff safety. Assist with setting up and relocating medical equipment, furniture, and fixtures. Safety & Compliance Ensure all work complies with hospital safety standards, infection control protocols, and relevant health and safety regulations. Identify and report hazards or risks in infrastructure and equipment. Support emergency response efforts (e.g. floods, power outages). Preventative Maintenance Conduct regular inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues. Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities. Assist with grounds and garden upkeep, including mowing and landscaping. Operational Support Participate in daily waste collection and engineering checklists. Ensure proper storage of chemicals and dangerous goods. Respect and care for hospital property and maintain confidentiality at all times. Teamwork & Communication Collaborate with clinical staff, contractors, and the maintenance team to coordinate tasks with minimal disruption to patient care. Communicate effectively regarding maintenance schedules and progress. Participate in staff meetings and the shared on-call maintenance roster. About You Experience in building maintenance or facilities management an advantage. Strong understanding of safety regulations and infection control principles.
