You will be responsible for ensuring Fremantle Ports achieves its strategic objectives to by managing the interface with major external projects ensuring that Fremantle Ports is operationally ready. Role Highlights As Manager Strategic & External Projects, you will manage the interface between key externally run projects (including Westport) and Fremantle Ports and ensure that Fremantle Ports interests and strategic intent are factored into project decision making as well as ensuring that Fremantle ports is operationally ready for the impact of any external project. You won’t be doing this alone, you’ll join a tight-knit, supportive team who share knowledge and encouragement, working together to drive Fremantle Ports’ success. In this diverse, hands-on role, your responsibilities will include: Ensure the interface between Fremantle Ports and major projects conducted by other agencies and organisations (such as Westport) is clearly defined, and accountabilities are mapped and supported. Ensure Fremantle Ports’ interests, safety and operating protocol are accurately captured within any external project activity, study or design. Provide advice to Fremantle Ports leadership with respect to internal strategic programs or streams of work required to ensure externally run projects are delivered successfully. Co-ordinate technical responses to information requests, as well as co-ordinating reviews of technical designs, strategies and other project artefacts such as cost and schedule. Co-ordinate and develop the Fremantle Ports operational readiness plan for external projects ensuring that the port is ready and able to incorporate any changes to operating protocol because of projects being completed. Lead and manage the Fremantle Ports operational readiness teams in compliance with all applicable standards, legislation, government policy and other requirements. Ensure Fremantle Ports internal process owners and stakeholders are engaged appropriately. What Makes You a Great Fit You bring sound operational knowledge of Port activities and operating protocols with substantial knowledge of engineering design and safety standards. You have demonstrated experience in leading operational readiness teams or related function and highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate. You also bring: Experience in all technical aspects of a working commercial container port – both in design and operating aspects. Proven high level of experience in infrastructure project management, with broad exposure to all key elements of the project management life cycle. Experience in representing end users or being part of owner's project teams in engineering design and major projects environment. High level understanding of operational readiness processes and techniques, preferably leading operational readiness teams. Proven stakeholder management skills and approach.
