Description About the Role Are you mechanically minded and looking to building a career in the water industry? If yes, the Water Services Technical Officer could be the perfect role for you! We are seeking a WSTO to provide both mechanical and technical support to ensure our irrigation systems operate efficiently and reliably. This role will see you working across both manual and automated systems, carrying out maintenance to agreed standards, and ensuring water is delivered accurately, on time, and equitably to customers in the Werribee and Bacchus Marsh Irrigation Districts. The position is a field-based role and is well suited to someone who enjoys practical, hands on work and has a strong mechanical aptitude, whilst also being able to adapt to new systems and processes. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team where training in industry specific equipment and processes will be provided to help you succeed. As the Water Services Technical of, some of your responsibilities will include: Operate, monitor, and maintain manual, automated and SCADA-controlled irrigation systems to ensure they meet service and water efficiency targets. Identify opportunities for automated system improvements and recommend upgrades or changes to enhance performance. Maintain equipment, plant and vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition. Undertake routine maintenance and construction activities of the water supply and drainage systems on time and to agreed standards. Prepare and maintain automation maintenance reports in the Asset Management System (AMS) on cyclic and emergency activities. About you The successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate some of the desired experience and abilities below: Previous experience in a technical (automation/SCADA), operations or field-based work. Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to understand and work with automated water delivery systems. Ability to operate a broad range of tools, plant and equipment.
