Volunteer with Ballarat Youth Services and be part of a team of connected passionate young people who make positive change in our community. The City of Ballarat is currently taking applications for our three youth volunteer programs for 2026: Youth Events Team: Take the lead in planning, managing, and delivering major youth events across Ballarat. Develop real-world skills in event management and marketing as you organise the annual City of Ballarat Youth Awards, and coordinate activities for important days throughout the year. Sonika: Be part of a super welcoming group of young people as you organise popular culture events across Ballarat. From live gigs to Pride Ball to PopCon, you will get to shape fun events that connect young people to music, art and culture. Youth Ambassadors: Get passionate about making positive change for young people in Ballarat. Build your leadership, project management and advocacy skills whilst you work on a project with other young emerging leaders. Our youth volunteers meet weekly during term time for a two-hour afternoon session, giving you regular opportunities to connect with other young people who have similar interests, to practice new skills and deliver exciting youth-led events and projects. Expressions of interest close on the 9 November 2025. If you have any further questions, please reach out to the Youth Team on Youth@ballarat.vic.gov.au At the City of Ballarat, we celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive, flexible workplace where everyone feels welcome.
