As Operations Manager – Communities , you’ll: Oversee centre operations and staff supervision Lead incident response and contingency planning Champion rehabilitation and reintegration programs Drive quality improvement and compliance Mentor teams and foster a culture of respect and safety Bring your leadership, operational expertise, and passion for making a difference. Key Accountibilities Provides assistance to the General Manager in the contract management, administration, development, supervision, and overall leadership of the centre. Shares common responsibilities and duties with the Operations Manager – Security. Oversees daily operations, including supervising staff and people in custody and ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. Develop, review and maintain all Operating Instructions and people in custody management procedures for all accommodation areas. Develops procedures and contingency plans and takes operational control in the event of incidents and larger disturbances to ensure staff and Centre management can respond quickly, effectively and safely. Ensures that all people in custody attend and take part in their scheduled rehabilitation and reintegration programs as part of their structured day. Ensures staff participation in Ravenhall’s case management and Continuum of Care-based operating philosophy, staff compliance with relevant occupational health and safety requirements and other areas relevant to the successful management of people in custody communities. Provides regular advice and consultation to GEO Head Office with regards to functional responsibility issues relevant to the correctional centre. Key Selection Criteria To be successful in the role of Operations Manager, you will be highly motivated, have demonstrated ability to prepare analytical reports of a high standard and will have well developed people management skills which enable you to empower, coach and mentor staff, resolve conflict, influence change and provide feedback - both positive and constructive. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate sound people and safety management practices, have prior management experience (preferably within a Correctional setting) and be aware of required compliance standards, including the ability to report and rectify problems and prevent non-conformities. Most importantly, you will genuinely believe in our vision that better corrections will create safer communities and will be well versed in your knowledge of and demonstration of the GEO Values. In your application, please address the Key Selection Criteria including: Substantial experience working within a correctional environment or similar, with significant experience in a senior correctional management role (or equivalent). Ability to establish new operating infrastructure, guidelines, procedures and local policy. Demonstrated knowledge of policies, procedures, programs, relating to Correctional Centre management and be able to apply them. Sound understanding of Contract Management. Demonstrated management experience in previous related roles. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality assurance including ability to identify and rectify problems and prevent non-conformities. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and management in the operating of a large and complex all classification Correctional Centre.
