Flexibility: We support flexible work arrangements. Role & Responsibilities: Provide Health and Safety support and advice in line with legislative and policy requirements. Assist with the development and implementation of Health and Safety policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and guides. Support the functioning of the Health and Safety Committee across Newcastle Anglican Review, update, and maintain Health and Safety systems. Risk management and assessment through identifying and assessing workplace hazards and risks. Facilitating emergency plans, accident prevention, and promoting safety training plans Motivate, coach and mentor our employees to assist with embedding a positive safety culture. Identify opportunities for improvement. Work with Director in relation to regulatory notifications and inspections. Facilitate incident/accident investigations processes where required and analysis to identify issues, potential systemic issues and control improvements. Establish meaningful partnerships and support business operations to proactively identify hazards. Support the development of safety inductions for all new personnel. Support the development of WHS education programs, ensuring they remain up to date and relevant. Provide data, identify trends and assist with reporting on Health and Safety to various levels in the organisation including management, Health and Safety Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, Newcastle Anglican Corporation Board and the Diocesan Council. regulatory notifications and inspections. About you? Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or demonstrated experience in that field. Current drivers’ licence A current Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children) National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes) Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS legislation, its application and managing those requirements. Strong working knowledge of WHS Act and regulations High level competency and experience in the provision of managing WHS programs of work. Sound computer skills in Microsoft Office Applications Demonstrated operational experience within WHS environment. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement Experience managing WHS programs of work in aged care, disability, community services or school environments is highly desirable. Who we are?
