The Position As the Senior Manager, Procurement , you will lead the delivery of a high-quality procurement service across clinical and non-clinical suppliers, driving category strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring procurement outcomes that align with SJGHC’s strategic objectives. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including clinical teams and executive leadership, to balance cost savings with optimal clinical and service outcomes. Key responsibilities: Lead and implement group-wide procurement strategies covering products, services, and capital acquisitions. Oversee end-to-end sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and compliance with governance frameworks. Develop and execute category management strategies in partnership with key stakeholders. Drive a commercially focused and risk-aware culture within the procurement team. Mentor and develop your team to build capability and foster service excellence. Provide timely and insightful procurement reporting to support executive decision-making. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and organisational policies. We are seeking a candidate with proven leadership experience in procurement within healthcare or a similarly complex industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a clear focus on building and maintaining supplier partnerships. Strong capability in developing and implementing strategic category plans and sourcing initiatives that align with organisational goals is essential, along with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and key decision-makers. Experience in managing high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture is highly valued. Knowledge of Australian healthcare procurement standards and regulatory requirements is preferred.
