About the role Newly created Field Service Trailer Mechanic role based in Brooklyn, VIC. Working with Australia’s leading trailer manufacturer, you’ll be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing trailers in the field—covering braking, suspension, electrical, and compliance checks. You’ll be supported by approachable management, equipped with a fully kitted out company vehicle, and enjoy the autonomy of field work backed by a national network. This is a hands-on role for experienced heavy vehicle or trailer mechanics who want stable hours, career growth, and the chance to be part of a family-oriented, long-standing Australian business. Duties Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on trailers Diagnose and repair braking systems, suspensions, axles, wheels, hubs, and bearings Carry out electrical and lighting repairs (wiring, plugs, connectors, ABS/EBS) Maintain service records, job cards, and compliance documentation Liaise with drivers, fleet managers, or service advisors on work required and completed Keep workshop tools, equipment, and work areas clean, safe, and compliant with WHS Skills and experience Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanics, or equivalent experience Proven experience working on trailers (semi-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, etc.) Strong knowledge of braking, suspension, and electrical systems Familiarity with compliance inspections and roadworthy requirements Current driver’s license Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Benefits Hourly Salary up to $53/hr additional for breakdowns Fully equipped company vehicle Multiple company benefits and programs Family-oriented and supportive management style that values employee well-being Autonomous work environment with strong work-life balance Career development and internal promotions in a close-knit, team-focused culture How to Apply If you are interested in joining a successful business for this fantastic full-time position, please send us your resume today.
