Key Responsibilities: Consult with brokers to assess insurance needs and risk profiles for general liability products. Identify, evaluate and convert new business opportunities aligned with underwriting appetites, authorities and company guidelines. Clearly explain general liability coverages, premiums, exclusions and policy terms to brokers and clients. Collaborate effectively within a small team of underwriters and administrative staff in a large insurer environment. Manage day-to-day account activity including referrals, quotes, policy issuance, endorsements and broker enquiries, consistently meeting Service Standard expectations. Calculate premiums and set payment options in accordance with underwriting rules. Review client circumstances and policy renewals to ensure liability cover remains appropriate. Accurately record and maintain client, policy and renewal information. Coordinate claims handling with insurers and brokers to achieve satisfactory outcomes. Source potential clients and business opportunities, follow up leads and prepare competitive quotations. Represent the insurer at marketing events and broker presentations as required; travel (including interstate and overnight) and after-hours networking may be necessary. Stay informed on developments in the insurance industry, trends and emerging risks, and provide knowledgeable advice to brokers and clients.
