With an expanding pipeline of exciting projects, we're on the hunt for an enthusiastic and committed Civil Operator / Leading Hand to join our team. CIVIL OPERATOR / LEADING HAND Full-Time | Based in Mackay & Surrounding Areas ABOUT THE ROLE: Reporting to the Civil Project Manager, this role will see you working both independently and as a key site leader across civil operations. You’ll operate a range of machinery, lead daily site activities, and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. With continually varying projects, from build pads to carparks, subdivisions, and everything in between, no two days will be the same. Key responsibilities include: Operate machinery including excavators, grader, loaders, rollers, posi tracks and trucks Lead and support civil works in the absence of the Civil Project Manager Conduct daily pre-start checks and report maintenance issues Implement and monitor quality control measures Maintain plant and vehicles to high standards (weekly washes required) Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies Maintain accurate documentation and daily reporting for project tracking Identify site issues and propose effective, practical solutions ABOUT YOU: Proven hands-on experience in civil construction operations Highly skilled in excavator, grader, loader, roller, posi tracks and truck operation Heavy Vehicle Licence (essential) HR (Heavy Rigid) licence required Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings Strong understanding of civil construction methods and materials Excellent communication and leadership skills Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability Organised, reliable, and capable of working under pressure Proficiency in relevant tools and basic digital project reporting
