Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following: Conducting initial intake assessments and managing referrals Providing confidential short to medium-term counselling Conducting risk assessments and developing action plans where required Offering consultation and support to teaching staff Liaising with external mental health professionals and agencies This role requires a highly skilled and compassionate professional with strong counselling expertise and the ability to manage sensitive situations with care, professionalism, and confidentiality. About You You are an experienced counsellor with a passion for working with children, adolescents, and families. You bring: Demonstrated counselling and assessment skills with young people and families Strong communication and negotiation skills with students, parents, staff, and external professionals The ability to manage competing priorities in a calm and professional manner A collaborative and team-focused approach A strong commitment to child safety and wellbeing Hold a Current Working With Children's Check You will hold relevant qualifications and professional registration, such as: Psychologist – Full registration with AHPRA (endorsement in educational/developmental, clinical, or counselling psychology desirable); OR Social Worker – Eligibility for membership of AASW; OR Counsellor – Level 3/4 membership of ACA, clinical PACFA membership, or equivalent Further training in Family Therapy or child/adolescent development will be highly regarded.
