We’re now looking for a Business Development Manager – SA & VIC to lead business development across these regions, building strong school relationships, securing tenders, and helping us bring our vision to more communities. About the Role You’ll drive new business through strategic engagement with government, independent, and Catholic schools. You’ll be a key player in identifying opportunities, preparing compelling submissions, and building long-term partnerships aligned to our mission. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Operations and the Marketing and Communications Manager . Key responsibilities: Business Development & Sales Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across all educational sectors. Attend and conduct school facility inspections and perform background research on potential new school partners. Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of tender opportunities and other growth channels. Prepare cost models aligned with organisational pricing frameworks. Meet regularly with potential new clients to present tailored proposals and solutions. Strategy & Collaboration Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Head of Growth & Partnerships to develop compelling submissions and pitch materials. Contribute to the development of sales templates and marketing collateral. Lead or support the preparation and execution of tenders, including government proposals. Relationship & Account Management Develop strong, long-term relationships with current school partners and key associations. Meet current business for health check. Recontract current schools, including both government and independent schools. Act as liaison between school partners and internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, integration, and ongoing service delivery. Brand Building & Market Awareness Attend relevant industry events and conferences to increase brand visibility and gather market intelligence. Identify market trends, competitor insights, and school preferences and report back to the internal team to inform strategy. Build a growing database of independent schools and identify government schools ahead of tender cycles. Reporting & Communication Provide clear updates on pipeline progress, sales numbers, and performance metrics in regular team meetings. Deliver feedback to relevant internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement of service offerings and sales approaches. About You You’re a people-first professional with strong business acumen and a passion for making a difference in education. You bring strategic thinking, great communication, and a hands-on approach to building growth. What you’ll bring: Proven ability to generate and convert sales leads, with strong prospecting and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to a range of audiences. High-level organisational and project management skills – able to prioritise, multitask and manage competing deadlines. Strong analytical skills – able to interpret data, understand market trends, and make informed decisions. Confident public speaker and presenter, able to represent the brand at conferences and meetings. High level of emotional intelligence and ability to manage complex stakeholder environments.
