Role Summary – Senior Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer Reports to: CFO Location: Head Office Overview: This is a dual role covering end-to-end payroll for employees and accounts payable for subcontractors and suppliers. The officer will ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting staff and maintaining strong external relationships. Systems used are MYOB Advanced (payroll/AP) and TimeSite Pro (time management). Key Responsibilities: Manage full payroll cycle: wages, allowances, deductions, superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, EBAs, and Fair Work compliance. Maintain payroll records and provide reports to Finance/Projects. Administer employee benefits (super, redundancy, income protection). Process commencements, terminations, redundancies, and leave. Oversee subcontractor/supplier payments, verify compliance (super, insurances, statutory obligations), and generate RCTIs. Review/coding invoices, reconcile AP, and prepare monthly reports. Maintain payroll/AP systems, support audits, and identify process improvements. Foster strong relationships with staff, subcontractors, and suppliers. Requirements: Proven payroll & AP experience (construction/civil industry preferred). Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, EBAs, and compliance. Proficient in MYOB (or similar); advanced Excel desirable. High accuracy, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across Finance & HR.
