The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor (Class 2–9) to join our Sydney team at Australia Square. Reporting to an Associate and working with a collaborative group of specialists, you’ll lead BCA consulting from concept through completion—growing client relationships, shaping performance solutions, and being mentored by recognised leaders in the profession. What you’ll do Deliver the day-to-day functions of a Building Surveyor/Certifier across Class 2–9. Assess and issue CDCs, CCs, OCs and Crown certifications under relevant legislation. Provide BCA assessments and reports, including site inspections and audits of new and existing buildings. Develop and coordinate performance-based solutions, working with fire engineers and FRNSW. Advise clients clearly—written and verbal—on regulatory compliance strategies. Prepare proposals/fees and contribute to practice growth through quality service and follow-up. Represent Philip Chun in meetings and workshops with project teams and stakeholders. Support a positive team culture—mentor and guide junior staff. What you’ll bring 3 years’ experience with Class 2–9 projects ; NSW Fair Trading accreditation is welcome (not essential). Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying (or related). Strong working knowledge of the EP&A Act/Regulations, NCC (Vol 1 & 2) and referenced Australian Standards. Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder skills.
