About The Role The AEMO Operations Division is responsible for ensuring continued secure efficient operation of the National Electricity Market (NEM) while enabling the transition of the power system towards 100% renewables. As a key member of the Operations Division, you will drive risk understanding and awareness, improve operational resilience and compliance, and enhance risk maturity across the business. You will embed best practices and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations, corporate frameworks and strategic objectives, and contribute to and help shape our future operations change agenda, bringing a risk and compliance focus and supported by our enterprise risk function. What You Will Be Doing Lead initiatives to strengthen the division’s risk and compliance culture and maturity, promoting proactive risk identification and managementConduct risk assessments, control testing, and compliance reviews to identify emerging threats and operational gaps particularly in terms of transition planning and future operability of our gas and electricity systems.Partner with operations management and teams to understand risks, and to design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, and to embed the risk mitigations appropriately in our organisation.Oversight of compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of non-compliance. Support root cause analysis post incidents to drive continuous improvement and a linkage with risk management.Prepare insightful risk and compliance reporting for senior leadership and governance committees as required supporting audit action reporting.
