About the Business Unit: Civil and Enforcement Services (CES) is a business unit within the Courts Civil and Criminal Law group at the Department of Justice and Community Safety. CES is responsible for the collection and enforcement of fines and civil debt judgements in Victoria. Strategic Insights and Information (SII) communicates the role and function of CES to the general community and its many diverse stakeholders through various online and reporting channels. The Analytics function within SII has the primary responsibility of delivering end-to-end analytics and reporting across CES to the Executive team, other key decision makers and into the public domain. About the Role: We're seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team within Civil and Enforcement Services. In this pivotal role, you'll lead complex data initiatives, uncover meaningful trends, and deliver strategic insights that inform high-impact decisions. You'll be responsible for producing advanced analytics and reporting using tools such as SQL Server, Power BI and Python while also mentoring junior analysts and driving data-driven thinking across teams. To succeed, you'll bring proven experience in business intelligence and data analytics, strong data storytelling and visualisation skills, and the ability to work with large, complex datasets. Some of your duties will include: Undertaking and leading the development and delivery of complex reports, self-service dashboards, campaigns and analysis using data from internal and relevant external sources Optimising and automating analytics and reporting processes to generate repeatable intelligence Interrogating, examining and transforming data to produce appropriate analytical solutions that support business decision making.
