About the Business Unit: Gaming and Liquor (G&L) advises the Minister for Casino, Gaming and Liquor Regulation on the development and implementation of liquor and gambling legislation and regulation, and on current and emerging gambling and liquor-related issues. The business unit is responsible for delivering and further developing the government's strategic response to liquor and gambling issues and for developing and implementing the Government's policy on various gambling licensing processes. It is the primary government point of reference for industry, community and other areas of government on liquor and gaming issues. G&L works closely with a wide range of external stakeholders from industry, government and the community. These include the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission and the Department of Health, peak industry and community bodies, major gambling licensees and gaming venues. The Operations and Major Licences unit within G&L provides leadership and operational expertise across the business unit, including oversight of quality assurance, performance monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement. The unit leads stakeholder engagement with industry, monitors and manages the operation of major Victorian gambling licences, vendor management, gaming machine entitlements and related processes, the operation of the state-wide pre-commitment scheme, YourPlay, and has administrative oversight of statutory industry training. About the Role: The Senior Manager will lead and inspire a team to manage diverse and complex programs of work, take responsibility for delivering multiple projects and operational workstreams, lead stakeholder management and relationship building, business improvement and reporting, provide strategic input into policy issues and negotiate outcomes to deliver time sensitive projects. Some of your duties will include: Leading and managing a highly effective team to deliver multiple programs of work including all aspects of the YourPlay scheme and major projects to implement government commitments Providing strategic and operational input into policy, legislation, regulations and related processes on complex matters, including pre-commitment and government reforms Managing business-as-usual licensing matters for all major gambling licences in Victoria, including facilitating licensing amendments and contract variations, direct and oversee changes to technical systems, and lead communications to stakeholders at various levels. About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Extensive experience in managing operations, stakeholders or a complex program of work, preferably in a government context Knowledge of gaming industry operations is highly desirable A wealth of experience in the development of policy and regulatory instruments or previous work relating to implementation of reforms would be an advantage.
