We will continue on our improvement journey to challenge the way we work optimising our entire operation. About the role We are looking for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer on a full time basis. This integral role will provide support to the Mining, Resource Development and Technical Services teams. The role is part of the Resource Development and Long Term Planning Department and reports to the Superintendent Geotechnical Engineering. This position is being offered on 8 days on 6 days off, 12 hour day shift roster. Core responsibilities · Work under guidance and instruction of the Senior Geotechnical Engineer. · Develop an understanding of procedures used at the mine with respect to ground control. · Conduct underground geotechnical inspections, mapping and QAQC for ground support elements. · Assist in geotechnical data collection, maintaining geotechnical registers and assigned projects. · Follow up on rock noise reports and monitoring seismic response within the mine. · Prepare support upgrade and rehab plans. About you To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering/ Engineering Geology or Mining Engineering. Previous early career operational mining geotechnical experience is desirable but not required. Ability to learn mining and geotechnical software programs. You will need to have a C class driver licence, be comfortable and able to work underground, both un-supervised and as part of a team whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills enabling you to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. You will need to develop an understanding of the statutory requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulations (Tasmania).
