Senior Executive Service Level 1 (SES-1) Fixed term up to 5 years The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint a Director, Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery to join its team. The Director, Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery is responsible for delivering strategy, trade and investment support, and data insights to support trade and investment attraction activities across the Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) Group. This role leads cross-cutting initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of trade and investment activities and supports the implementation of the Government's trade and investment strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, Industry, Trade and Investment Services, the Director, Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery will be a dynamic leader with strong strategic policy, and stakeholder engagement capabilities to make a meaningful contribution to Victoria's economic growth. The successful candidate will work effectively as a member of the leadership team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and lead a wide variety of economic development activities across the Industry, Trade and Investment group. The Industry, Trade and Investment Services branch supports the delivery of trade, investment and industry development activities. The branch consists of the Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery, Investment Facilitation, Financial Projects and Risk, Governance and Performance, Finance and Business and Events and Venues teams. The Trade and Investment Strategy and Delivery team provides applied policy, trade and investment data insights, and delivery support to enable the group to proactively identify, attract and facilitate trade and investment opportunities across key sectors. The team provides a central coordination point for complex business requirements across ITI. The successful candidate will: work in collaboration with executives across ITI to ensure the provision of high-quality policy, insights, and coordination required to support successful investment and trade outcomes. Provide authoritative, strategic and practical advice and briefings to senior executives, Ministers and other stakeholders on trade, investment and economic development issues, strategies and initiatives. Provide strong, collaborative and adaptable leadership within the team and the ITI group, including coaching and mentoring to the team, to build a high-performance team culture that supports the Group to achieve investment and trade outcomes and influence Victoria's economic development agenda. Facilitate and lead effective relationships with senior government and external stakeholders, including by representing the division at forums such as on interdepartmental or external committees. Oversee the analysis and synthesis of investment and trade data, market intelligence, and market insights to inform and influence decision-making and program design. Facilitate and lead cross-government and stakeholder collaboration to advance complex trade and investment opportunities and strategies, working closely with sector teams, regional offices, and the Victorian Government Trade and Investment network.
