The Position This newly created business development position is all about identifying and driving new business and supporting the strategic growth of the firms. It’s an opportunity for someone who thrives in building relationships, spotting opportunities and delivering tailored solutions that make an impact to businesses. Working closely with the Managing Director and the Senior Recruiter, we’re looking for a driven Business Development Manager to join our team based in Burleigh. Key Responsibilities Identify, target, and acquire new clients across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, (SEQ) and/or nationally where possible. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, networks, and stakeholders, including the Government sector and Local Buy. Increase sales, develop a robust pipeline of opportunities and forecast revenue to support overall business growth. Create opportunities to keep our internal team busy and reduce the business development workload on others within the firm . Develop tailored proposals, submissions and tenders that position IHR and RC competitively in the market. Track industry trends, monitor internal sales / marketing metrics, and identify areas for growth. Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure brand alignment and campaign effectiveness. Collaborate with our HR and Recruitment team to scope additional solutions for existing clients, increasing engagement across both businesses. Achieve monthly and quarterly targets Use Zoho CRM to manage the sales pipeline, implement automations, create dashboards, and track communications. Requirements About You To be successful in this role, you will be: Exceptional across all forms written (reports, tenders, proposals), verbal, email and presentations. Able to influence, sell and create a strong positive first impression in an authentic, consultative way. Confident and approachable, able to engage naturally at networking events and build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, including Boards, C-Suite and senior leadership. Proven history of sales success, particularly in professional services. Focused on genuine problem-solving and delivering value, never pushy or transactional. Hands-on, resilient and adaptable with a strong alignment to the mission of IHR and RC. Self-motivated with a solution-focused mindset. Skilled in developing compelling tender submissions, grant applications, and persuasive business documentation. Works well within a team environment, supporting others while bringing a professional and engaging presence. Ideally Gold Coast–based with availability to work from the office, and open to travel once established in the role.
