In this role, you will drive NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives, ensure supplier quality excellence, and foster innovation in SMT technologies. This position requires strong leadership in audits, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on high-volume PC manufacturing. Ideal candidates thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable with international travel. Key Responsibilities • Lead the qualification of planar and MB assemblies, including end-to-end process setup for SMT assembly, testing, and inspection. • Coordinate on-site audits, NPI sample builds, and qualification testing to ensure seamless product launches. • Conduct DFx (Design for Manufacturability, Testability, etc.) reviews for planar and MB designs to identify and mitigate risks early. • Perform engineering requirement reviews and audits for planar and MB components, ensuring alignment with quality standards. • Facilitate supply chain, manufacturing, and design readiness reviews to validate production feasibility. • Drive PCBA NPI quality improvements by analyzing failure modes, implementing rapid recovery actions, and organizing Fupan (follow-up) sessions. • Review and approve ECR (Engineering Change Requests) and PCR (Process Change Requests) for planar and MB to maintain compliance and efficiency. • Oversee ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) manufacturing quality control, ensuring adherence to specifications and continuous improvement. • Conduct regular audits of supplier production lines to uphold quality benchmarks and resolve issues proactively. • Qualify SMT facilities and tooling, verifying capabilities for high-reliability production. • Manage SMT resources, including capacity planning, team coordination, and operational efficiency. • Handle quality management for 2nd and 3rd tier suppliers, from vendor selection to performance monitoring. • Champion SMT technology and material innovations, evaluating emerging trends to enhance product performance and cost-effectiveness. Qualifications • 8 years of hands-on experience in PCBA SMT processes, with preference for candidates from the PC industry. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Japanese, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams. • Willingness and availability for overseas business travel, primarily to China and Vietnam (approximately 20-30% travel).
