The Sydney branch has around 15 team members and forms a critical part of the group's operations. About the opportunity This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for leading the internal and external sales team, overseeing sales operations, and driving growth across the NSW business. You will work closely with the State Manager to execute sales strategies, implement processes, and grow market share. When the State Manager is away, you will act as 2IC, stepping into the leadership role and ensuring continuity across operations. In this role, you will: Increase sales volume and margin by 5-10% within three months Build strong relationships with customers and the broader market Lead, coach, and develop enthusiastic sales team Standardise CRM and reporting processes for accuracy and accountability Represent the business and strengthen its reputation within the NSW market You will be expected to mentor and guide the sales team, ensuring they have structure and support while also being challenged to perform. About you You will have proven experience in sales leadership within the steel industry, ideally across steel distribution, processing, or reselling. You are confident in managing both internal and external teams and have a strong understanding of the Sydney and NSW market. You are commercially focused, capable of building relationships, and comfortable taking charge when required. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Knowledge of the steel industry, including long products, RHS, merchant bar, plate, and sheet. Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams Understanding ERP system (Pronto, SAP, Oracle, or similar) Strong communication and relationship management skills A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain a police clearance This role suits someone ambitious and ready to lead - someone who thrives under responsibility and wants to position themselves for the next step in their career.
