We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Landscape Assessment Officer to join our Development and Landscape Assessments team. Reporting to the Team Leader Development & Landscape Assessments, your duties will include, but are not limited to: Undertake detailed landscape and tree assessments for development applications Prepare clear, concise, and legally robust reports and recommendations Provide expert advice to internal departments, applicants, and the public Investigate complaints and non-compliant works, and recommend mitigating measures Represent Council at Planning Panels, on-site inspections, and Land & Environment Court proceedings as required Ensure compliance with Council’s Environmental Management System Policy and Corporate Standards & Procedures on environmental management practices Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment Qualifications, Skills & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or equivalent Current Class C Driver’s Licence OHS General Induction (White Card) for construction work in NSW 3–5 years of professional experience in development assessment and analysis Substantial experience in landscape architecture, urban design, and arboriculture In-depth knowledge of NSW planning legislation and local government frameworks Strong understanding of environmental management principles High-level written and verbal communication, including report writing and customer interaction Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities Benefits 35 hour working week Work from Home (WFH) options / Flexible Working Arrangements in line with Council’s Policy and subject to approval Novated Lease options available for private use vehicles Access to Fitness Passport Up to $100 Health & Fitness yearly reimbursement (conditional) Free confidential Employee Assistance Program Beautiful Ku-ring-gai Location Supportive team environment Access to a wide range of development and training opportunities For more information on the benefits offered at Ku-ring-gai Council, please refer to our website click here. * Council’s work from home policy allows up to 80% of hours to be worked from home.
