We seek a hands on Chief Executive Officer to launch and grow a modern insurance brokerage. This is a rare opportunity to build and own a modern insurance brokerage at the intersection of technology, advisory and an evolving regulatory landscape. You will shape the culture from day one, lead with purpose and integrity, and share materially in the value you create. You will inherit a significant book of general insurance/life insurance business from day one and be responsible for shaping the strategy, securing and maintaining an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), acting as Responsible Manager, recruiting the inaugural team (of 10 to 15 people to manage the claims process, the tendering process and operations), and delivering the P&L. You will have direct access and receive mentorship from one of the most influential executives within the sector who has successfully built several thriving businesses over the past decade. The major shareholders are also experienced business builders from a leading private equity firm that will provide guidance on the scale up journey. Required experience & skills 10 years’ senior leadership in insurance (brokerage or carrier) with a track record of revenue growth, team leadership and regulatory compliance. Eligibility to be approved by ASIC as the Responsible Manager. Deep knowledge of Australian broking regulation and a clear understanding of the broker’s duty to represent clients’ interests. Experience in start‑up, scale‑up or new market entry environments, with the ability to build something from the ground up. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills; commercial acumen with advanced financial modelling and P&L management. Extensive network across the financial services ecosystem and comfort representing the firm publicly. Tech savvy mindset, with an appreciation of insurtech/ fintech platforms and data‑driven distribution.
