Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to be based in Sydney. The nature of the programme is highly technical with a strong focus on quality and engineering. This role requires someone who is well versed in engineering standards including ASDEFCON / MIL-Std and ISO. The Engineering Manager will lead a cross functional team, making recommendations and overseeing the full engineering process. The key focus of this position is the management of a highly motivated and dynamic engineering team. The successful applicant will provide leadership to a broad demographic and guidance on all engineering issues to multiple project teams and management, a manager who will champion best practices in systems engineering, design reviews, testing, and quality assurance. This is a diverse role that will encompass client management, capability management, definition and design as well as manufacture. Experience Required: CPEng qualified Professional Engineer with tertiary qualifications with experience A strong track record in engineering and delivery experience Demonstrated Leadership in parallel tasks and outcomes Experienced in drafting and implementing engineering processes and technical documentation. Proven experience mentoring and developing engineering talent A traceable history in customer relations 8 years of experience in SATCOM or RF engineering, Minimum of 3 years in a leadership or management role. Experience in UHF/VHF or HF Communication technology Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Applicant MUST be eligible for a Defence security clearance This position would ideally suit applicants with a Defence engineering background who are looking to make that next step into management.
